Hi,

Without extra cooler like I have at home, I can't overclock the i3-540@ mothers home?! Its the Gigabyte Board and multiplier is locked as you know @23... 133x23 being normal I think, I got a Ryzen 7 2700X at home now for a while with the Dark Pro 4 beast, only 16GB-3000, prices are/were so high, mines, quite weak €uro, Smartphone demand, only SSD are going down in price, I got the Samsung 970 Evo really for a good price,..

250W air cooler, and cool adapter as well as the Pure Base 600 Orange is from "Be quiet!", you dont hear it and have controll buttons on the front they made it so as I chose every part, I will buy additional RAM, but RAM usage... maybe first a 4k monitor, the beastfan is comparable to most water coolers), however my mother gets my old FX-8320 as someone with a car comes to bring it from my home to her, 8 Cores/8 Threads, the old one, its a energy junk yea, but at least gold power adapter and It has free multiplier like all AMD I think?!

The turbo is 4.0 and 3.7, as its not with the "ryzen 2" (like my 2700... or Ryzen 5 from the 2nd generation can send all threads into turbo, usual turbo is only for a few threads afaik... however less than a month even, 3 weeks...can I overclock it for so long without additional cooler?!

I can only overclock with overclocking the RAM and QPI, but I can set it to 8.0 from 10.0... or at a special rate the QPI from alone goes back down, it does not rise without limit...... I opened one side (and clean it every time before I go sleep, and when I go on Monday morning I close it again)

Where can I go to? normal is too 39-42.5° celsius @ BIOS, sorry I thought it would be in the other thread, he had the same "problem", except only needing to hold it 1 month or so... have to check, I know RAM OC is almost nothing, you should always buy the best RAM your board support I know (like mine 3000, and some Intel 2666 or 2400 even on more pages, but maybe its a error, I thought Intel would run much higher than AMD, with 3200 (current max?)

Well I think I will have to try it, but if you can say "No! Do not do this!" it would be cool, I can't leave auto voltage? according to CPU-Z he increase it good, but its only a increase to 138-140 instead of 133x23....150x23 would be 3450 MHz for example... RAM would be 1500 instead of the normal 1333... but if I put it on 8.0 instead of 10.0, but it would be only 1200... than better 1500?! With the QPI it works better because of the higher clocks (with 137 you already break the 6GHz QPI)

As said its from 2010, the first i-core-generation and it don't need to last that long, only to the 24th August and only on Weekends and only when playing of course!

A locked board, not intended for overclocking? A stock CPU cooler?

No, you should not be attempting to overclock. I won't even bother asking what the model number of the motheboard is in order to determine if it's a high quality board or not, because without substantial cooling there is no way to recommend trying this in the first place. Bad idea.
