how do i update my mother board without an older cpu

hello there
i will buy an msi b350m mortar along with an amd ryzen 5 2400g cpu.
one friend online told me i have to update my motherboard before the cpu wil work so thats why i am here.
should i contact msi and make them update it or something of such?
or contact amd to send me a cheaper AM4 cpu? or of the such?
if you know what i should do please tell me and have a nice day

You can request a loaner cpu "boot kit" from AMD.

Take it to your local computer store and ask them to use the older Ryzen processor to update your BIOS. If the board is brand new...it should have an indication of what BIOS it's shipped with mentioned on the label on the side of the box.

Or get a B450 and it will work with the cpu out of the box.

i dont know is it more expensive because i maxed the price of my rig
