WD my book essential 2TB - light on, no sound, not found by explorer

Hi,

I am in process of installing a new SSD and win10 at the same time. Just yesterday I moved all my data to my external drive to format the old HDD in the process. This evening I just wanted to check everything is okay before formating the old drive. Then I noticed my eHD did not show signs of life except for the constant light (no flashing).

Are there any tips what I could do (except than send it to an expensive recovery company), tried a couple softwares without help and didn't find much using google.

Thanks for any help you can give!

I agree, but there was quite some data and moving was faster than copying.
I've tried easeus and recoverit, no errors but neither gave the drive as an option to recover from.
