when i download or update a game on my computer (which is connected via Ethernet), wifi on my phone and my tv box slows down. my phone is on wifi and my tv box is on Ethernet and it slows down until the download is finished. my other computer programs are not affected by the download

What is your internet service? Speed? Provider?
Are you using a modem and separate wireless router (if so, what make/model router?)? Is it a combo modem/router? Is it one you own or get from your ISP?
How many devices are there connected via wireless? Wired?

The only time that you are going to be aware of this is when you have multiple users. The router isn't unlimited when it comes to input and output. So when you have multiple users, you are going to see variations in upload and download speed as demand on the router increases.

You are always SHARING with somebody, some other tasks you are running. If u have gigabit Internet u won't notice as much, otherwise... also some other poster asserts once he starts download with OS1, everybody slows down, vs download with OS2 OK, in this instance OS1 is too "aggressive" and doesn't play nice with others and the only option in this case is to implement QOS. QOS a nice thing to have anyhow, we operate in a shared environment.
