Questions regarding RAM

1. Is there anything else I need to do with my RAM other than pop it in?
2. I have my first Corsair Vengeance (1x8) in the 2nd slot to the processor, should I put my other stick in the 4th slot?

You need to be prepared for it to possibly not work. Some motherboards don't like mixing RAM and won't work right if you install RAM that didn't come as part of a kit.

Where you put the RAM depends on the motherboard. Some motherboards prefer two sticks to be placed in the 1st and 3rd slots and some prefer 2nd and 4th.

It didn't come in the stick, but it's the same exact model. With the same code CMK8GX4M1A2400C14, pretty sure it'll be fine.
