New GPU with no signal but onboard graphics work

I just got an EVGA GTX 1050ti 4 gb to replace an old card. I plugged it in and I have the CD running to download the drivers but when an hdmi display port is plugged in the monitor doesn't receive the signal. Could I have a faulty PCIE port?? how could i fix this??

Also my computer is compatible since I was replacing a damaged GTX 1050 Gigabyte card. The computer is an Inspiron 3847 with an intel i5-4460.

Try downloading the drivers directly from the manufacturer's website.

The CD's drivers may be obsolete, old, or corrupted.

Ok so update, That worked as far as recognizing the card. However, i get a code 12 error and my display still doesnt show when i plug it into the HDMI port.

Use DDS and fully uninstall any old drivers and do a completely fresh driver install. Make sure everything (hardware) is completely seated and no fans are obstructed as well.

Most discreet GPU's don't work when you have onboard graphics enabled, since you stated that the onboard graphics work, I would make sure that those are turned off through the BIOS.

A few things to check:

Have you checked to make sure it's not just an issue with that port on the video card? If you have a second HDMI port give it a try.

Have you tried using any other way to connect the GPU to the monitor? DVI-D or Display Port should also be checked.

Have you tried connecting to a different monitor/video display? Sometimes there are issues where the GPU signal won't be detected by a particular monitor. Try hooking the HDMI up to a TV and see if it works.

New update. I did the following, i currently use a tv as my "monitor" and bought a dvi-vga adapter with still no luck. I have searched my BIOS and cannot find a way to disable it without going through device manager. I have read up that most BIOS have an option for video cards but I can't seem to find mine.

Geez, people are really falling for these scams? The price tag is just too good to be true. Even if it were a legit 1060 - which it's not - the price would make me think there's something wrong with it.
