All my specifications for start:
>CPU: i5 8400
>MOBO: AsRock B360 PRO4
>GPU: Asus Strix GTX 1080
>RAM: 8GB 2400MHz DDR4
>SSD|HDD: 120GB|1TB
>PSU: 650W CoolerMaster
So, I started to have problems with the GPU, specifically the very high temperatures under load (Point 1) and the low clock speed of the core (point 2.)
1. Without a load, on the desktop or when browsing the internet, the temperature reaches 40C and this is ok because the card then works in 0dB mode but when I turn on GTA V for example, temperatures suddenly jump from 90 to 94C and this is not ok because the fans then work at 100% and so it does not give anything.
2. The core clock on the desktop is fixed 1600MHz and does not change but the use of the core is usually 1 or 2%, but when you turn on some game the clock goes down and starts jumping from 400MHz to 1400MHz but usually fluctuates below 1000 with 100% core usage.
What I've already tried to do so far:
> Installation and testing of 3 different versions of the drivers, of course using the ddu in safe mode
> Locking clock speed at 1800MHz in msi afterburner
> Lowering the core clocking up to 1500MHz
> On the NVIDIA control panel I set the PhysX processor on GeForce GTX 1080 and changed the "Power Management Mode:" to "Prefer maximum performance"
> And regarding high temperatures, I cleaned the whole card from dust (of course without unscrewing)
