I'm going to get ark soon and I'm almost 100% sure my graphics card cant handle it i have Graphics Chipset AMD Radeon R7 240 right now and sadly I'm short on money right now or i would just get a gtx 1080 the minumun requirements for ark are DirectX11 Compatible GPU with 1 GB Video RAM and i don't even know what that means lol so pretty much I'm wondering if theres a graphics card i could get for like 150$ that would run ark

Gtx1050ti would be the best bet as that's the most powerful gpu that'll work on most standard OEM pc's, not requiring a auxiliary power connection. What you'll need to do is check your case, to see exactly what fits as there a bunch of smaller form factor cases that will only accept single height cards or mini's, so you'll need that to get the right size card to fit.

Why not wait and see how your current card holds up first?
As for a gpu with 1gb Vram, the R7 240 has enough, but there are 2 different models.
Do you know if you have the 2gb or 4gb version of that card? You can find out on the box if you kept it around, or google your particular card online.

It really depends on what resolution you're running on your monitor. If you have a 2k or higher resolution you will need a GTX1080 but if your monitor is only HD then a GTX1070 will be fine. Do you have any other games that use the Unreal 4 Engine? Play them to get some idea whether your machine can handle the workload.
