I had these brand new parts and it was my first time building it. The 24 pin worked worth the tester but when I plug in into to the mother board nothing happens

MY COMPONENTS

MSI Z 270 a pro
Corsair Vengance LPX
Intel i7 7700k
EVGA 500 power supply
NZXT Kraken

Yes I have a tester similar to the paper clip test and when I use that my PSU works fine and everything powers on except for the mother board

Unplug everything, plug all the cables back, (obviously - don't do anything when it's live), carefully check and cross check with the power supply and motherboard manuals that you plugged in everything correctly.

There are two things you need for the motherboard to light up some LED on it to indicate it's getting power: The 4 or 8 pin CPU power cable and the 24 pin ATX cable. When both of them are properly plugged in, just plug in the power chord to the PSU and switch it on, you don't even need to use the power button, some LED would light up on the motherboard, indicating it's getting power.

I have tried this and no LEDs come on. My EZ Debugs don’t show anything I took the motherboard out and did what you said and nothing happened. I think it might be DOA

What do you mean by a DOA case. I thought it was just the motherboard

I will try and get a refund for the MoBo and see

The PSU is fine (paper clip test) so yeah refund it is. Thanks so much for your help. First time doing a forum on Toms and it was rapid. Definitely using again
