Dear Guys,

I have an 7 year old Game PC that was the best of the best 7 years ago.
Now I'm facing issues where my PC is having issues .. slowness, hanging, ..
Also my CPU is mostly at 95 degrees where it sometimes blue screens, due to overheat CPU.

This is my setup:

The only thing I changed was my HDD to an SSD.
Should I replace everything? Or just replace my CPU?

Kind regards
Thanks for the feedback

If all your issues are because of overheating, then just get a better cpu cooler. Your cooler is probably clogged with dust and thermal paste has long since dried up. But CPU is still usable 4core/8thread model.
12GB ram - this might not be enough anymore. But you have to monitor your ram usage before making any conclusions.

With that budget, you can get whatever you want.

Intel Core I7-8700K
Z370 motherboard
16GB of RAM

That should easily get you through the next few years.

MAYBE consider a new GTX 11xx series graphics card when they come out.

Wolf, that's an Nvidia GTX580, not the AMD 580. There is no real point in keeping that ancient GPU anymore. As mentioned above, if keeping anything I'd keep the CPU and what not and upgrade the GPU. But also as mentioned above he's got the money to upgrade everything so just do that.

Seriously, there should be a rule about naming your product the same as a competitors. AMD should have never named them the 480, 570, etc. Those names were already used for GPUs. Pick something else! I'm waiting for Nvidia to ue 7000, 9500, 9700, etc. I really hope they pass.

This brings up and interesting point. Nvidia already had the 4200, 4400, 4600, and the FX line starting with the 5200 and up. Are they going to change the naming scheme when they get there?

I'v tried to clean my CPU cooler, I broke some pins, now it doesn't attach close to my CPU anymore, which my pc can't start at this moment.
I wanna put the Noctua - NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler (€87.89 @ Alternate) on my CPU

Will this fit my motherboard / CPU, and how do I know?

THX!

Is the couple of hundred dollars worth the RTX over the GTX1080?
