i5 8500 unpark cores

ive got an i5 8500 and downloaded the unpark cpu app but its only showing 2 cores while the i5 8500 has 6 cores but when i check task manager and ingames all the cores are running? is this normal? since it showed me only 2 cores i just unparked those 2

I do not believe you need that app for the i5 8500. If I remember correctly it was more for the older AMD FX series CPU's. In windows just set your power options to "High Performance" and you should be good to go.

"Ultimate Performance"? To my knowledge there is no such thing in windows power options.

I think you're confusing the built-in power options in windows vs the unpark CPU app. Do not use the unpark app. Go to power options in windows instead.

Is this a pre-built system? That would explain the "Ultimate Performance" option.

By the look of the settings. You're good to go. No need for the unpark app at all.

I just learned that "ultimate performance" is usually available in workstation PC's and can be enabled with a command promt: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/ultimate-performance-power-plan
