Hi, my friend's PC (writing thid on his behalf) shut down randomly and then restarts again and when it does it somehow shut down the internet in the whole house. What can the reasons to this be? Didn't even know which category i would put this in.

SPECS:
CPU: Intel core i5-4670K
RAM: 8 GB
GPU: GTX 760

Solution
My thought is that he has configured the pc with a static ip that duplicates the router's IP.

However, it may be that there is some problem within the PC that is effecting the network card and subsequently causing the network problems.

Use the computer's logs via Event Viewer and Reliability History to look for error codes or warnings just before or at the time of the restarts.

Should provide some additional clues about what is happening.
