Hey guys first of all i am gonna say that my english is not so good but i'll try my best to be clear.
My problem is: I am not sure if i should buy a new pc in the next months or just upgrade some of the components, Also in my opinion this build is unbalanced but, years ago, when i bought it I did not know ANYTHING about computers in general so I trusted an i.t. guy who pretty much scammed me with this build...

Btw, here's a list of my components:

CPU: Intel Core i7 6700K 4.00GHz Skylake

Cooling: Cooler Master V8 GTS (Air)

GPU: ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti

MOBO: ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO (LGA1151) (z170)

RAM: CORSAIR Vengeance 32GB DDR4 2133

PSU: Cooler Master 750w 80 Plus Gold

Hdd and ssd, not important

With this build i can still run almost every game with high/max settings at 60 fps but i have a 144hz monitor and i can only run a few games at 144 fps and of course i have to set almost every setting to low ( :/ )
I was thinking about upgrading to an I7 8700k, 1080ti and watercooling but i can't because this mobo doesn't support newest CPUs so maybe i could just buy a watercooling system, overclock the CPU and upgrade the GPU to a 1080ti, do you think that this could cause bottleneck ?
I hope you can help me, is an upgrade worth it or should i just get a new pc ? I accept any suggestion.
Sorry again for my english i tried my best :wahoo:

You'd be nuts to get a 1080ti this close to 1180 launch mate.

Dont buy a new rig. your 6700k is ample and will be for some time. The most CPU intensive games out there wont push a 6700k to 100% right now. Maybe 60% max right now so you've still got plenty time. My 6700k is still unlocks the full potential of my 1080ti SLI cards.

If you've got money to burn then wait a month to get a 1180. sell your 980ti on ebay and with the money recovered purchase a water cooling loop from EKWB for both CPU and GPU.

Good luck!

1080p 144Hz? A 980TI should be able to accomplish that on >Low on a lot of titles.

Are you monitoring CPU/GPU/Memory resources? Is anything hitting 100% utilization?

Are you monitoring CPU/GPU temperatures?

A 6700K is still a very viable CPU, and a 980TI is no slouch.

If you're bound & determined about an upgrade, a 6700K should pair well with anything up to a 1080TI.
Remember though, a 980TI is (roughly) 1070 performance..... so make sure any upgrade will be worth the money.

Yes i can only handle 1080p, I have never checked the % of utilization, temperatures are like 60/70° for the CPU and 50/60° for the GPU depending on the game and on how long i am playing it. ( I usually play R6S and Overwatch )
Btw, for a future upgrade do you think i should OC the 6700k to make it work with a 1080ti ? I think i will wait a few months and see if the prices go down a little bit before upgrading, I am happy to know that i don't really need to spend 2000 and more euros on a new pc at least for the next year.
Thank you for the quick answer :)
