Just purchased a used HP 8300 SFF. Trying to open it and it seems to be stuck. The back panel bends when trying to open it like its getting caught on some part of the inside.

Here is a video of how easy its supposed to be.

And here is a video of mine getting caught when trying to open.

Is this fixable or should I give up? Was bought online so I have the option of returning it but would rather not have too since everything else is fine on the PC.

Thanks for the reply.

What angle would be best? Pics or videos?

Try to lift it exactly as you see in the YT video.... Looks like your hand might be applying pressure at the rear, which may impact the metal & latching?

Remember, the panel is to go "up" like the YT video, not sliding "back" like it looks like you're attempting.

I'm not sure, it should be pretty clear to see where the latch is caught . I'm not sure why, but your recording is making my eyes hurt

LOL.

I've tried lifting it pretty much every way. Tried jiggling it really good when lever is pulled all the way up.

Yeah you should just pull up on the handle shouldn't have to touch the back of the PC really, heck i won't be surprised if that PC came from the company I work for we have a 3 year refresh cycle and probably have been refreshing around 20-30k machines a year. Make sure the top lid doesn't have any screws in the back you should should be able to just pop it off.
