which ethernet switch should i buy for 2 people?

Solution
That is a cable splitter. It is used as it states for ISDN. Ethernet is much more than just the simple wires it requires a electronic device. Ethernet needs a electronic port on both ends.
ISP provided equipment will only usually give out one IP address and it sounds like you have a basic modem.

For more people, you need to purchase a router and let it take the ISP's network address and then router handles network on the home side.

You don't need an expensive one, someting like a Asus AC51 more than enougth, which will give you 4 1 gig network ports and dual band wifi.

and that would also mean i have 2 routers?

So do you currently have a router or a modem. A router would already have multiple ethernet ports and many time wireless. A modem most times only have a single ethernet port and no wifi.

If you already have a router any switch will work. I tend to like this brand better but only becuase it is a little cheaper.

Not sure how this translates but in the USA it is $19.99 in most places so maybe you can get it cheaper at a different company.

Yes a switch is the device that gives you more ethernet ports.
