Ever since around April/May my computer has been freezing whenever playing graphically intensive games. It freezes but the entire system is still functioning, but no tasks are able to opened. As far as I know of, everything is up to date. Temperatures are fine and everything I have downloaded showed the health of everything to be great. I have reimaged 3 times. I am on my second SSD. I switched the RAM modules. I even shipped my graphics card back to MSI and got a refurbished one back. Nothing has helped my issue. Everyone I have talked to is out of suggestions. Anything to help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600X

Bad motherboard maybe? If the system is still functioning when it freezes run task manager before the crash occurs and if task manager still works see if everything runs as it should in the activity tab. I'd guess it's either a bad motherboard connection to the ssd or the PSU might not be able to handle the load even if it should be able to.

My BIOS has not been updated since September. Could that have any impact on it? Also is a bad motherboard a reason to contact the manufacturer for repair or a new one?

If you still have warranty then maybe if that is the issue. If there's any bios updates you should install the latest one. Try plugging the ssd into another SATA port as that might be the issue.
