Will my PC turn itself off to prevent overheating the CPU?

I currently run an FX-8350 @ 5.1 GHz on a H110i GTX and I’m getting package temps in the upper 60s and lower 70s under load.

I’m wondering if I were to clock it back to 4GHz and remove the water cooling, when I turn my computer on will the CPU turn itself off when it overheats or will it cause a fire? Just wondering how overheating in extreme cases is solved by the computer itself.

I’ve seen videos of people cooking pork on their CPU but it seems dangerous if the computer doesn’t automatically shut off!
