So I've read several post on several sites on this issue. I've had issues with my PSU and my system restarting. The error suggest that it is a psu issue. I have the luxury of swapping out units from my sons pc. I have a Corsair HX850 goos and he has a Corsair CX750 Bronze. When swapping the 750 in my pc it seems to fix the restarts, but games fps gets reduced by about 60%. To make sure I swapped back to the 850 and the restarts happened, but the fps when back to normal and then swapped back to the 750 and the low fps continued. What could be happening? I plan on getting a new psu, but dont want to make a move until I figure out why the low fps.

Samsung 850

I think the best chance of getting to the bottom of it is to measure the voltages on the PSUs and see if they are in specification.

You can do this with a cheap multimeter ($10).

Google "checking PC power supply with a multimeter". There are lots of sites with instructions.

I'm an idiot and didn't realize that my sons psu is modular and my is not. I was unlocking my hx850 to complete remove it. When running the wires through I unhooked the PCI from my GPU and then it clicked. I hadn't hooked my GPU up to the cx750. Again I am a fricken idiot. Thank you @jay32267 for your input.
