Hello, just a quick question
I game on my laptop which has integrated graphics, so I was wondering when should I replace thermal paste. I have it for around 3 years, I'm not playing some intensive games, but I've noticed lately that my fans spin a lot faster than before while playing the same game I used to before, so should I consider replacing the thermal paste?

Solution
Absolutely. Laptops have tiny fans and tiny air channels. Once they start to clog up with dust, the laptop loses the ability to keep its CPU/GPU cool whether you have integrated or separate components.

I'd guess that your paste is fine, but your heatsink/fan is getting clogged with dust. 3 years is about how long it takes for this to happen. I blowout laptops with an air compressor; it can take a lot of force to push that dust through. Otherwise, you'll need to open the laptop up and use air-in-a-can to get it clean. Opening the laptop is generally the better option if you comfortable doing it since you can see exactly what's going on and you'll know when it's clean.

Alright, but does clogged fans have to do anything with my laptop being hot(on load) at the point where CPU is located?
