Hello everyone,
Recently I started streaming games, mainly Rainbow Six:Siege,Fortnite and Overwatch. Sadly,my build, which I will list at the end of this post,is kinda weak. I get 90-100 fps on Fortnite and Overwatch, and around 75-90 on Rainbow Six(all this while streaming.Add 20fps to each measurement and that's the FPS i get without streaming). Thing is,my GPU,Asus GTX1050 OC 2GB(Expedition) came with GPUTweak II and I tried using it for the first time. OC mode didnt really do anything, besides increasing the consistency of the FPS (no fluctuations when looking in the distance, with more objects to render and so on. But doing a customized profile and setting everything to the max(Memory Clock,Voltage,Boost Clock and Power Target) and also setting the fan to 100%(I dont mind it,its really damn silent) brought a huge performance boost. Not only the stability of the fps increases, but also raises it a lot (160FPS Fortnite,140FPS Overwatch,120FPS Rainbow Six). The FPS doesnt change while streaming.I'm super happy, but at the same time, also concerned. The temperatures arent really different, since i keep the fan always on and at full speed. Usually it reached 70-75C while playing these games, but now stays at 57-62C while gaming. But I'm worried about the long term effects. I'm a student, and can't afford an upgrade,so OC is the solution. At the same time,I dont have money for a replacement, and I dont want to fry my GPU. Can someone give me advice on how to overclock properly and tell me if what I'm doing is dangerous in any way?
Thanks anticipated,Andrei.
