Hello

My specs are:

Motherboard: ASRock Z370 Extreme4
CPU: I7-8700K
GPU: EVGA GTX 980 4GB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3200MHz
PSU: Corsair RM850 Plus 80 Gold
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit.
Storage: Samsung SSD 970 500GB M.2 (OS is installed on this). Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5'' HDD and a Crucial M500 SSD 2.5" 240GB.

So i decided to put this motherboard into my newly built PC. I builded it on 1 August this year, and at 17:00 that same day everything was up and running.

I've had some issues with it from time to time since then, first thing that happend was less then a week after it was built. My secondary monitor could not keep picture while it was turned on. I turned it on and then it died instantly after 2-3 seconds. This also could affect my main monitor which gave me no picture at all. I tried changing the PCI ports of my graphics card to the top port. This made it work a little bit but was not good enough, plus i did not like having the graphic card that close to the heatsink.

So I changed back to the middle slot again and removed my monitor for some troubleshooting when i get some proper free time. So far I can't tell what caused this, I would relate it to my GPU but it has not had a single issue since i removed my secondary monitor.

Secondly, and this is now my major issue and it annoys me beyond recognition. ALL my USB 3.0 ports have died. None works.
It started a few days who when i was playing sea of thieves. All of the sudden i lost my keyboard, mouse and audio. Nothing worked so i had to force a hard reboot. Then it worked again, then it happend again this week where my audio just vanished. I tried different usb ports but nothing, and on top of that my mouse died too. I had to reboot and then it worked.

So now today, things get interesting. Keyboard has been dying and then working whole day, same as the mouse and all my other devices. And then ALL died, i tried the frontal USB ports, i tried the rear ports but nothing worked APART from the single USB 3.1 with the type c port with it. I now have a USB hub in it with four slots to power my keyboard, mouse and headset so i can write this.

I'm at a loss here. I will list everything i've tried that i can come to think of.

- I have inactivated the disconnect option for USBs in the power settings.
- I've tried every single USB I got with my mouse and none works apart from the one i mentioned so far, if that dies, that's it - end of story.
- I've tried to find USB drivers for my motherboard, but guess what. There isn't any. People say on forums that windows update will deal with the usb drivers, I got my pc fully upgraded from windows updates so If i would make something out of that i think the drivers are installed, but hey, I can't tell that for sure since I have not installed any drivers for my USB from what i can tell.
- I have all the mobo drivers installed from the official website.
- I'm not running the XMP profile in bios settings, It's set to Auto.
- I don't have a single overclock activated.
- My PC is running normal temps, CPU is around 40c normaly, GPU too if not less in idle, the M.2 Is below 40c. From what I can tell there is not a single heat issue at all.
- All drivers on the pc are updated.
- I tried reinstalling my keyboard drivers from razer while they were in their 3.0 USB ports before they stopped working. But that did not help at all.
- I updated the BIOS to latest version when these issues started to appear, just to see if the newer bios version would fix it. It did not.

Now. Before i changed everything into my USB hub in the 3.1 slot, the "symptoms" i had with all devices was that it would disconnect and reconnect constantly, which makes everything unresponsive for many seconds up to minutes to never working again. I got my T500 RS Racing Wheel connected to one of my front USB 3.0 ports, and it's not working either. BUT recently as i'm writing this it turned itself on and started to recalibrate itself then it died again and now the port is not working, again.

So I'm at my wits end here. I've asked friends for help but they just scratch their heads like myself

I have made a ticket to ASRock but I'll ask here to see if anyone else know anything about it.

EDIT: My T500 RS Racing Wheel just turned itself and and managed to fully calibrate itself and still is being powered by one of the frontal USB 3.0 ports. I have not touched it for over an hour or done anything else since then writing to support and here.

Solution
USB drivers are contained in the chipset drivers. Check the ASRock website for the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard. Hopefully that should fix the issue.
