Hey guys,
Hope you're doing good.

A couple of days ago I bought some new 16 Gb RAM (8Gbx2) from Amazon.fr to add them to my PC.
https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B01MU9NESL/ref=pe_3044141_189395771_TE_dp_1

When I installed the RAM I got a blue screen error 0xC0000221. I think this means that my RAM are not compatible one another. (old and new). I tried to install them again but my PC/Window would not start.

My current build is:
- Intel Core i7 7700k
- 16 Gb (2x8) DDR4 G.Skill Trident Z 2400Mhz CL15
- Asus Strix Z270f motherboard
- Asus Strix Nvidia Geforce 1070
- PSU Corsair CX650 bronze
- 1 SSD NVME
- 1 HDD
- 1 SSD SATA
- Corsair H100i v2 CPU cooler
- Win 10 64bit

* I wanted to add 16 Gb RAM (same one) so I can have 32 Gb in total and I had the problems.
You will find attached the old box of Rams and the Rams that I currently use and also I have attached the new rams with their box.

The only thing that I can't figure out is the SC on old rams and SD on new rams. I didn't notice that when I bought them on Amazon.

Please advise.
If these RAMs are not compatible can you please suggest which one to buy/replace from Amazon.fr so I can upgrade my current RAMs please? (I have 15 days for the amazon return).

Thank you and have a nice day!
Chris

Solution
They look compatible on paper but with high speed DDR4 RAM compatibility is iffy. That's why it's recommended to buy RAMS in matched pairs because there can be large variations from batch to batch owing mainly due to the nm scale of semiconductor fabrication and secondly the high speed DDR4 signals operate at. With that being said, I have more often than not been successful at mixing together similarly spec'ed RAM even from different manufacturers.

By any chance you have not OC'ed your RAM or enabled XMP profile? I would recommend try running the RAMs at the base frequency of 2400 - this should give you highest chances of success.
