My gtx 1060 is thermal throttling at 65 degrees or so, I get up to 2070 mhz then it down clocks to 2035 or so when stress testing. It sits at a steady 71 degrees. I've replace the thermal paste with a ARCTIC mx-2.
Yes, it does. But we can't call that throttling. It's reducing factory boost/overclock to maintain thermal conditions as the chip heats up and the GPU heatsink becomes saturated with heat. It's 2-5% drop in performance at most when you reach 70+c, no need to be concerned about it. The only thing that can keep it at bay is water cooling it.So it does have to do with temps
