My Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz (2x8 16gb) memory is shown in CPU-Z to be running at roughly 1000mhz. Why is it stuck at these speeds and how do I fix it.

thanks

Solution
1066 MHz memory clock = 2133 MHz effective speed, the default speed for DDR4, making me think you haven't enable the XMP profile. Do that in the BIOS.

I've heard xmp is risky, is it safe to activate it with my rig?

Risky how? It's possible it won't be stable (especially on 1st gen Ryzen which is finicky with memory), but you're not going to damage anything.

If you want your memory to run at its rated speed (3000 MHz), enabling XMP is the best way to do it.

Sure it's safe, it may not work though. activate it then see if it boots. If not set it a step lower, 2800, 2666 etc until it does work. My 1600 uses corsair lpx 3200 but only manages to run it at 2800.

as long as it doesnt damage any hardware then I'll give xmp a shot. Thank you
