Hey, so when I tried to solve this problem. I read a lot of threads that this problem is not solvable. Thought I can say it actually is with the right router settings.

Charter is my isp, the modem is the standard modem they let me use for free and I have a netgear nighthawk router.

After logging into router settings go-to advanced settings>setup>WAN setup>NAT filtereing, select open.

Not sure if this an option on other routers, but thought it might help someone. :)

Also, one xbox one is wired, and the other is Wi-Fi and both have an OPEN NAT TYPE!!

That is because you do not actually understand the problem and the term "open nat" has slightly different definitions from different vendors.

The key problem is your router only has 1 ip address and 1 pool of ports. So if you have 1 console using port 1234 to allow incoming sessions no other machine can use that.

So if you have a game that only connects to other machine on port 1234 only 1 console in your house can be active. Now if the game can use other ports then you can have mulitple but the problem everyone is concerned about is that a lot of games you can not use different ports.

This is a fundamental restriction of how IP communication works. There is no way to solve this other than the game consoles to not be stupid like they are. No fancy option in a router can fix this, they can not magically allow multiple machine to share a port number on the external interface.

First see if there are more than one ports available that will work with xbox live. They might of made it so that you just need 1/X ports. Then you could forward a single port to each one. I don't think xbox services support this, it's worth looking into.

Check to see if you get multiple ips from your isp if the only way is to forward the same port.

I've read that the ddwrt upnp service allows for frequent forwarding changes and maintains prior connections. When your xbox is searching for a game it will be forwarded to that one. Once you are in the game another xbox can do it. If you both get a game at the same time, it might drop connection. I really don't recommend upnp, but if this actually does work it might be useful.
