Can I use the Arctic Accelero Xtreme IV (without the 280(x)) on my R9 280x?

Hi, my fans on my Sapphire Tri-X R9 280x haven't been working well (the base even appears broken) and I'm looking to get an Accelero Xtreme IV 280(X). Since there are no more 280(X) versions of the cooler in stock anywhere, is it best to get the one without the 280(X)? And am I able to install this cooler on my GPU in the first place?

I wouldnt spend the money to be honest. The Tri-X was one of the best coolers on the 280x. You might find with a good clean out and replacing the thermal paste (perhaps a bit of machine oil on the fan bearings), it will run a lot better.

RobCrezz has it right, you shouldn't need to change anything except a little cleaning and perhaps change the thermal paste and oil your bearings. If you want, i can link you to the thermal paste i use.
