PC suddenly slow on apps like Chrome,Twitch e.t.c. All Games run completely fine

I bought my Desktop a year ago and everything has been running fine until 2 days ago.I tried watching a youtube video and spotted frame drops on Chrome and the video aswell.Twitch now takes a LONG time to open and also has some framedrops.ALL games run smoothly.I even have 60 fps on GTA 5 on Very High graphics.

My PC specs:
- Intel Core i7 3.4 GHz
- Nvidia GTX 1070
- 16 GB RAM
- 223 GB SSD
- 1 TB HDD

I would really appreciate any help!

what kind and how many extensions are you using with chrome. how many tabs do you keep open at once?

I only have adblocker and I usually have 1 to 3 tabs at once.Although, I am sure that is not the issue because I had no problem this whole time

and you have scanned for all malware and bad stuff?

I did. The antivirus found some files and put them on quarantine but the problem hasn't been solved.I use Norton by the way

ugh. norton antivirus can bring even the fastest machines to a grinding halt. WORST AV software ever. You are better off with free AVG at this point. uninstall all norton garbage and get back to me. after their terrible software was installed you may need to do a fresh windows install to completely defunkify it if problems persist.

the only one worse than Norton is McCaffee, what a stinking garbage pile that is.

I installed Norton after the problem occured just to be sure there is no virus.I will uninstall Norton like you said.Could you tell me a good Antivirus program?

I use the built in Windows Defender and all their new malware stuff and practice safe online habits. I don't download stuff basically unless I am buying it online. ESET used to be good back in the day, I just don't know what to recommend as I don't use any of it anymore.

I found out that I did not have a virus. I just updated my drivers and the problem went away.I recently downloaded Driver Booster and it really helped me!

then you got lucky. usually those driver installers make major mistakes and slow you down. Great to hear you got it fixed.
