Set up additional Comcast access point using DSL (not cable modem)

Hi! I have Comcast internet service properly set up my own modem and router. However, the wireless service is somewhat more when it comes to 1 or 2 of the rooms in my apartment since its at angle to the router and there are a lot of walls to pass through.

I want to set up an additional access point/router not connected to the modem in another room, but I only have a phone line available. Is it possible to use a DSL splitter and DSL/Ethernet converter (since a lot of inexpensive routers I have found on Amazon do not have a DSP port) to set up another access point?

Side note: I have already connected to Comcast and they insisted I need to use a Wi-Fi extender. However, I ideally want to avoid the associated slow-down.

Thanks!

Comcast is mostly correct there.
You can't just plug in an access point to a phone line.

Comcast talks to one and only one device, the modem, via the phone line.
The modem talks to one any only one device, the router (sometimes this is in the same plastic box)
The router can talk to multiple devices, including access points, extenders, or PC.s Either wired or WiFi.

Well, the Comcast modem is connected via cable in one room. In the room I want to have an additional access point, I only have a DSL line. I thought it was the case that its possible have additional routers as long as the secondary router acts as a DHCP client instead?

Is it not possible because Comcast only provides a single IP to the modem so it can't service multiple routers? Or is it because Comcast does not feed its internet service through DSL, only cable (such that a router on DSL won't pick up the service)?

Any additional routers or WiFi sources need to connect to the primary router. And be dumbed down to be just access points.
Having another phone line elsewhere is of no use. Comcast talks to one and only one device, via the phone line.
