I need your expertise to guide me through this. So here is a list of what I am currently using and have not got round to upgrading it due to family issues and I would very very pleased if you could answer as you made such a good job last time of doing so.
So here is a list of what I am currently using.
BitFenix Shadow ATX Gaming Case BLACK
600w ATX 12cm PSU Silent Fan
ASRock 1150 Motherboard (CPU Celeron to i7)
Intel Pentium 2.8Ghz Dcore CPU
2GB DDR3 Elite Black Heatsink (Motherboard Max 16Gb)
2GB Nvidia GeForce GT710 Graphics Card
500Gb Hard Drive
LG 24x DVD-RW
HKC 19.5” Widescreen Monitor
Windows 10 : Office : Antivirus

I know it is crap but I would like to upgrade it to a better but still bad computer.
( the guy that made it for me before overcharged me, charging me £400, and that is why I have come to you as I feel you can make my day).

So I want to upgrade my Ram and GPU first and I was wandering where I can find the best prices as I am still on a budget and I was wandering whether a gtx 1050ti and 8gb of ram would be a start and upgrading the cpu later.

Since I have bought a good keyboard and mouse which I think is more of a necessity, I only have £149 of so left to spare. Was wandering whether I could get a gtx 750ti and 8gb of ddr3
ram for that price and would if be compatible with the cpu I currently have. Also Will be getting further £400 later and would it be worth upgrading the gpu and cpu and keeping the ram. aswell say I did get the 8gb of ddr3 ram, would that be compatible with further upgrades on cpu and gpu, like i5 8600k and gtx 1060/1050ti.

My last request is that could you tell me whether all I need to do is slot the stuff in the slots where they are suppose to go aswell as could you leave me links to the best websites for the products and videos relating to this topic. But I would prefer your answer as I find it more valuable and promising.

Aswell can you recommend any cpus for my pc that are compatible with my motherboard and are good for the price.

Thanks :D

I do not advise sticking with an old DDR3 standard MB. It will not provide a good upgrade path going forward, and once you do upgrade it, you'll have to replace RAM and CPU again. Be patient and wait until you can afford to replace the MB, CPU, RAM, and GPU all at once. The only modern part you have power wise is the PSU, and even that I'm not sure of the quality, because you didn't mention the brand or model.

I more or less agree. What you are starting with is quite low end.

You could potentially get something like an i7-4790 (Though we would need the actual motherboard model to get a definitive answer) You can get just a used 4th Gen i7 for about $200-250. Not sure what the going rate is in the UK.

Memory is quite expensive at the moment, but getting 8GB of DDR3 is about the same as getting DDR4. So really you are only saving the cost of the motherboard.

You would see a huge improvement by getting a late model AMD APU. (Actually over a GT710, any late model Intel HD onboard graphics would be faster as well)

So something like this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 2200G 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (£82.00 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: MSI - B450-A PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard (£88.98 @ Ebuyer)
Memory: Patriot - Viper 4 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (£80.28 @ CCL Computers)
Total: £251.26
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Thank you both for your time and being honest.
The Power supply unit is called a 600w ATX 12cm PSU Silent Fan, otherwise I don't know what you mean.
think it might be this one https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwiro8vcrePcAhXKne0KHRmdD-kYABAUGgJkZw&ohost=www.google.co.uk&cid=CAESEeD2QDihkpIeJOe8LAm91kJD&sig=AOD64_20BYK9yGdaB07ctY1mihaelEyOCg&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwiimcXcrePcAhVHIcAKHQmgA6AQ9aACCEc&adurl=

Hmmm, that is a very cheap PSU, I've literally seen it as low as 16 GBP. It's hard to even find any reviews on it and when you can find EVO Labs reviews, they often aren't good. A lot of new builders assume a PSU is not a vital part, but the truth is, if a PSU fails or even starts having problems, it can literally damage all the other parts that need power. It's not something you want to cheap out on. It also only has 75% power efficiency, so isn't even 80 Plus rated, let alone Bronze.
