Asrock Fatality b350 itx and m.2 drive

Motherboard bios unable to detect the m.2 I have installled. The motherboard is a Asrock Fatality b350 itx with the wifi installed. Everything else works without issue.
The Bios is updated to the latest 4.70 version and the drive is on the list of supported drives:

It's listed as part no. ASX7000NPC-256GT-C. It's an XPG S7000 256gb NVME drive.

The Bios' storage section is configured as AHCI and of course, Sata is enabled.

So far I have tried:

Googling before asking here.

Updating the BIOS (of course)

Loading optimized defaults.

Turning CSM on and off.

I've also tried disconnecting all other hard drives.

System specifications:

Ryzen 5 2400G

Samsung EVO SSD 500gb

Seagate Firecuda SSHD 2tb

Wifi is built in (included on board) pcie?

Corsair 600 W SFX PSU

Gigabyte 1080 8gb ITX GPU

Corsair 32 gb RAM 2x16gb 3200mhz

Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit

What are your full system specs?

Are you using an APU? I don't rememebr the specifics, but M.2 lanes are cut/disabled on some boards when using an APU.

Yes I'm using an APU.

That's probably the issue there, there's less PCIe lanes available with the APUs.

I'd have to track down some info, don't recall it all offhand but there's less lanes available - and they'll all be used by the GPU in that build.

I've asked for some assistance though, so hopefully somebody else can address it better than I.

Nobody in that thread is running a discreet GPU though, that's the problem (I believe). You could test. Remove your 1080 for now, run with the iGP of the 2400G. Does your NVMe drive "work" then?

From what I have read, the integrated graphics disable 8 of the 16 lanes dedicated to a dedicated graphics card, meaning the 1080 will run on 8 lanes. There should still be 4 dedicated pcie lanes for a nvme drive.

Noob here. Is it the model with the wifi in one of the M2 slots? And could that use up some of the PCIe lanes?

Yes, I do apologize for the missing information. The Wifi is the one that came with the board and yes it is being used, however, I'm unable to see whether it is PCIe due to a metal housing built over it, but I'm betting it is.

There is only one m.2 slot on the board that I can see and it has the NVME drive in it. I'm going to open it up and disconnect the GPU and see what happens in the BIOS.

I have that same board and I use a 1080 and m.2. I can check my BIOS settings and report back my findings.

Though, I am wondering why you would an APU and a GPU?

I got a really good discount on it. That's really the reason I upgraded to Ryzen. Previously, I had an Intel 4690k and this made sense to match that. So far, this is the only issue I have, so all in all, I thought it was worth it.

In UEFI under 'Advanced' - 'AMD PBS' I have 'PCIe x16/2x8 Switch' set to 1x16. 'PCIe Switch' set to Auto.

Strange thing is under the 'Storage Configuration' tab it says all SATA and m.2 slots are "Not Detected".

In 'Boot' menu I have set my 970 Evo m.2 as first device.

When I use HWiNFO64 I can see the 'Video Bus' set at PCIe v3.0 x16

I have the EVO m.2 drive in it's only available slot. My EVO 960 SSD and Seagate 2TB HDD are plugged into the two SATA ports nearest the RAM slot.

I am NOT using an APU.
