I did a case swap from a thermaltake core v21 to a fractal design meshify c mini and now the MSI h110m gaming motherboard's EZ debug light is showing CPU not detected or fail. Everything was plugged in correctly. I haven't tried clearing the CMOS yet and i don't have a jumper cap. The CPU is a i5-6500. I'm nervous that i damaged the motherboard or the system in some way.

Solution
It's possible that you have damaged something. Remove the CMOS battery from your motherboard and unplug your system from the wall. Try to turn on the system in order to discharge the PSU capacitors. Wait for 2 minutes and put back the battery and the power cable. If it still doesn't work, remove your components from the PC case and try to turn on your system from outside the case. Be careful to put the motherboard on something that doesn't conduct electricity. A cardboard box should do the trick. If it still doesn't work then you have probably fried something form static electricity. Good luck.
