Hello, thank you for viewing this topic, I have a weird problem that I have been encountering with my phone and laptop, I have 2 SIM Cards, one is from a company called Zain Sudan, and the other is from a company called MTN Sudan, the first company is really fast but expensive, while the other is decent and cheap

I will summarize the problem even though I really don't know how to explain it.. My laptop can connect to the phone's wifi hotspot and USB Tethering and send data to the laptop with the Zain SIM Card, but the MTN only works with USB Tethering, it doesn't work when I have the wifi hotspot enabled, lol this is really messy, I will just put it in a table shape..

SIM Company - Wi-Fi Hotspot - USB Tethering
Zain - Working (Sending/Receiving) - Working (Sending/Receiving)

MTN - Not Working (Laptop Connected to wifi hotspot but not sending or Receiving) - Working (Sending / Receiving)

When I work with the MTN card, I have to make the phone connected via USB Tethering, because the Wi-Fi hotspot won't work, I tried everything, changing DNS servers, delete the profiles in laptop's wifi, restart the laptop multiple times, disabling the adapter and update it then enabling it, nothing. Even if it works I will get a connection that is like %20 of the MTN Package's speed... idk what's wrong

My laptop is Acer Aspire V 15 Nitro (VN7-571G)
and my phone is Huawei Honor 6x on Android 7.0

A cellular "hot spot" works just as if it were an "access point" or WAP. Teathering is when your cell phone becomes this device. If you can connect to other WiFi devices fine then but unable to connect to this either you are out of range, the signal is being blocked or the device is bad. CHEAP is not always better. Just not enough information for me to say what the problem is. I'd suggest contacting customer service but I am thinking they have none because you posted your question here.

I found out what is the problem, turns out the signal at the place I was at is about 30% or about -40 to -50 dBm (Correct me if the value is wrong, the point is it was bad) I will just find another place to use the laptop at, thank you for your help! :)
