Recently I have been in the market for a decent cooling solution for my new i7 build which I plan on overclockinf and I have ended up on two choices and I need help deciding, or if there are potential suggestions.

The two items I am chooing from are a Dark Rock Pro 3 or 4 (don’t know which is better) and an NZXT AIO x52 Kraken.

I have heard lots of bad things about the x62 and x52 coolers from NZXT, but I had also read that if you get the right one theyre amazing.. Im also a little worried about AIO’s, because if that leaks I don’t believe they cover anything.

Anyway I appreciate any feedback!

An i7 8700K is a notoriously hot running CPU, even more so if overcloked. In terms of CPU cooler, I have the Dark Rock Pro 3 on an I7 6700K oced to 4.6ghz and it keep s it at 55-60C while gaming and on prolonged stress testing it can reach 80C. The Dark Rock Pro 4 is quieter but cools a bit worse than the Dark Rock Pro 3, so from the two I suggest the Dark Rock Pro 3 (still very quiet). If you are going the AIO route the NZXT coolers you suggedted are very good quality. If looks are a big factor, get the AIO. I would personally get a Dark Rock Pro 3 and maybe delid the 8700K.
