New Intel i5 cycling on/off

Whenever I try to turn on my PC with the new processor I just put in (Intel i5), it goes into an on/off cycle that will go on forever. I know it's the processor, not the motherboard, I tested it with the old processor (Intel i3) and it worked fine. If anyone has a similar problem or a solution that would be helpful

Pretty sure you need a bios update to support the CPU considering you swapped it with an i3. What are your system specs?
