EVGA 1080ti sc2 running hot? 56c idle

Is my GPU running to hot?

56c idle
76c under load

I'm using the meshify c case with a front mounted 280mm radiator for the cpu as intake (static pressure fans).
I 3 exhaust fans, 1 in the back and 2 on top.

Am i wrong in thinking that the gpu is too hot? especially if i'm going to overclock??

No. 76c is fine. But try adding a custom fan curve in MSI Afterburner with a 1 degree delta (1C=1% fan speed, so 56c=56% fan).

My GTX 1070 runs about 50c without a custom fan curve because the fans don't spin unless it's under load. This is done by design to reduce noise and prolong the life of the fans.

Ok, so added the custom fan curve like you told me and i also made the exhaust fans (the blue ones) go a bit faster and lastly i made the pump on the cpu AIO go at 100% speed constantly. (Don't know if that made a difference)

Now i'm at 38-39 idle and 71 under load. and the pc didn't get that much louder, so i'm happy.

yeah my 1070s load temps aren't too fantastic but they're within limits so that's acceptable. My average when playing Arma 3 at 4K is about 68c, max is usually 78c. I have the PNY XLR8 Best Buy Exclusive edition.
