The Intel - Core i5-8500 3GHz 6-Core Processor already has a cpu cooler so does that mean there is no real benefit to buying a seperate cpu cooler for my pc build

Solution
There is.
1. Better cooling performance;
2. Noise.

If stock coolers were that great, nobody would buy aftermarket coolers.
The Ryzen stock coolers are really great, but the Intel stock coolers are a joke.

If you want a cheap and decent cooler, the Deepcool Gammaxx 400 is a good choice.
Keeps my i7 8700 around 60C max in games. Which is decent I guess, considering it's summer and it's pretty hot in my room (and no AC).

Most everyone who uses this site (including myself) will spend the extra money to replace the stock intel cooler. But if you needed/wanted to use it, it will be enough to cool your cpu. Just not much more than it needs to. I have an old sandy bridge i5 I put the original cooler on years later when switching to a small case someone gave me. It does enough if you need it.
