Is a Ryzen 1700x worth it now compared to 2600x?

Depends on your uses. For most gaming and general purpose use the 2600x is better. For heavily multi-threaded CPU intensive workstation type tasks. The 1700x is better.

If you are willing to overclock. Basic overclocking isn't that difficult. Get a Ryzen 2600 instead.
