Performance of new HDDs vs old ??

THREAD UPDATED (LOOK BELOW REPLIES) !!

I heard about new HDDs with 5400 RPM speed that's its faster than old 7200 RPM.

Consider those 2 HDDs:

Western Digital (WD) Caviar BLUE WD10EZEX 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 7200 RPM 64MB Cache HDD
vs
Western Digital (WD) Blue WD20EZRZ 2TB SATA 6.0Gb/s HDD

While i'm not sure from that info, it's said that WD Blue 1TB released in 2012 but the WD Blue 2TB released in 2015. (Please correct me if i'm wrong)

While I'm not sure from that info, which HDD will perform better than the other ?

WD black - 1st,
WD blue - 2nd.
Seagate DM001 drives had rather high failure rates. With DM006 drives things have improved.
SSHD - not worth it. If you want SSD performance, then get real SSD instead of this.

if you are wanting a faster drive you should keep your current one for storage and get an 250GB (or larger) SSD.. you will love yourself after that.. and as far as I have seen no 5400RPM drives are faster then the 7200RPM unless you get one of the HDD with SSD cache like this one https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-FireCuda-Gaming-Solid-Hybrid/dp/B01IEKG2HM the FireCuda it has a 8GB SSD built in and it uses that as a fast cache for things you use a lot as it learns. THOUGH I would really just get a primary SSD and then use your current as extra storage.

No old storage for me now, I know that SSD is great and i'm getting one for windows too, but I'm just asking which one from those 2 HDDs i mentioned will do better than the other in gaming regardless of the SSD (for windows only). the gaming will be played in normal HDD so need to know which is really better from those 2 i mentioned ? its said that some new 5400 are better than old 7200 but not sure so need to know that from you guys.

UPDATE:

I hope for some extra help to know what is the best HDD choice for gaming from these models:

- WD Blue 1TB 7200 RPM (2 Pieces).

- Western Digital (WD) Caviar Black WD2002FAEX 2TB

- Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM006 2TB

- Seagate FireCuda SSHD ST2000DX002 2TB

Please tell me which is the best, and also rate those 4 choices from the mostly recommended to the least recommended.

Don't forget to consider high reliability and long-lifetime.

I will play so many heavy games most of the time, like COD, BattleField, AC, NFS...etc.

NOTE: Don't have budget for a SSD. :D :D

Actually i was going for WD Blue 1TB 7200 RPM with 2 pieces to get myself 2TB capacity (The black is very expensive here in my country), but you just said seagate has improved its 2TB HDD from the previous version, so is it still fine, safe and reliable to go with seagate DM006? as its more cheaper and 1 piece so that will help me to save more 3.5 mounts for future upgrade. Also the budget price maybe help me to get a SSD 120GB for windows. but i'm also looking for high reliability and long-lifetime without failure ... what do you think ?? is seagate still fine ?

I can afford the WD Blue 1TB (2 Pieces), but i just wanna make use of 1 mount 3.5 at my case instead of 2, to save more mounts for a future upgrade. What do you think? I'm just asking only about the reliability of new seagate model in general. I can afford all choices i mentioned except for black only and to be honest affording the black one is almost a problem for many people.

the 7200rpm drives over the 5400rpm drives have a faster access time when reading stuff from the drive. so I would go with that if you need a little faster stuff. for archives I could care less. for a main drive go with ssd. I would stay away from seagate.. I have had way too many of their drives die over the years.. but that is just my opinion..

Thank you so much for this info, I think i will go with WD Blue 1TB 7200 RPM, but i'm getting 2 pieces for more space cuz i can't afford the black one 2TB.
