Hi, so i installed my m.2 drive to my PC today and was expecting it to be like installing any HDD or SSD where I could just plug it in and it would be there with my other drives. Guess thats not the case.

My specs are:

-Asus Maximus VIII hero motherboard
-Samsung 850 evo
-M.2 970 evo
-WD Caviar Blue

I wanna keep my windows on my 2.5” 850 evo and have my games on my M.2 970 evo so what I did was I followed this video

saved and restarted and computer kept crashing at start up. Reload bios to defaults and now my PC wont stop crashing at start up. Please help.

You're following a guide for RAID... Switch back to AHCI mode and you should be able to boot back into windows. Once in windows open disk management and you should be able to create a new partition for the m.2

Go into UEFI/BIOS and set SATA mode to AHCI
Boot up into windows safe mode
Open msconfig again -> under the main menu tab (general) click the normal startup circle - > restart
