Internal HDD not showing up anywhere

2-3 days back i started getting the error message "reboot and select proper boot device" I initially got past it with just boot overriding from the bios but today morning when that didn't help i used my bootable usb to repair windows and since then my 1 TB WD HDD isn't being detected in file explorer, or disk management or device manager or even the bios. The hdd is spinning normally so i'm guessing it isn't a hardware failure? I say that because it has been working perfectly fine up until now and only yesterday i freed up like 200-300 gb in it.
I have tried unplugging and changing the SATA cable ports.
Also i made an account here just to post this and i'm not sure if this is the right section.
Need help asap
Thank you

Note: I have my os on my ssd and that works fine.
I have no other computer available to plug the hard drive in and check.
I built this system in december 2016 if that's relevant.

you changed the ports, have you tried a new/different cable?
if the cable and the ports are good that leaves the drive, just because the drive is spinning does not mean that its okay, the heads may be stuck, there may be an error on the PCB under the drive, etc. a hard drive is a complex machine with many varied parts, the motor is just one.
if you can get it to work again back up what you can.

I have not yet tried different cables, i'll see if i have another spare cable.
And do hard drives work like completely fine one day then failing the next?
The data isn't particularly important, i can always download my steam games and movies but i don't want to get another drive if i can somehow make this work.

it sounds to me like the PCB is failing. that could include loose solder points, or damaged circuitry.
sometime you will get warning that the drive is failing, usually damage to the platters. you will detect damaged sectors and experience file corruption. other issues are quick and without warning. stuck heads due to a failed electro-magnet are one such example.
it really depends on what the problem is as to how fast it fails.
