My computer was working fine till last night without any problems. However today morning when i tried to switch on my PC it was booting up like normal except that there was no display on my monitor. I thought that the vga cable got loose so I tightened at both monitor's end and graphics card's end but still no display. Then I unplugged the vga cable from my graphics card and plugged it into the onboard vga slot in my motherboard and the problem got resolved. There was display on my monitor and it was working fine when I was using onboard graphics. Then I unplugged the vga cable from onboard graphics slot and plugged it back to the graphics card and again I was not getting any display............ Just black screen. Now after this I opened up the cabinet........ The graphics card fan was spinning and I took out the graphics card from the pcie x16 slot and cleaned the dust with a cloth and plugged it firmly back in and switched on my pc but still there was no display on the monitor. After that i slapped hard on the cabinet and again tried to switch on my pc and this time there is display on my monitor and everything is working fine now like before without any problems.

So I'm concerned as to why display was not coming on the screen before and why is it working fine now just after i slapped the cabinet? I searched about this alot and some say it is due to psu failure and some say graphics card is dying that's why. By the way I had bought both graphics card and psu from 2nd had market...... Graphics card is like 4years old and psu is just 2 year old. Another thing i would mention is that when I had opened the cabinet i heard that the graphics card fan was spinning very loudly(louder than normal).

PC specs:
GeForce gtx 650 1gb
Corsair vs450 450W psu
4gb ddr3 ram
Windows 7 ultimate
Amd a4 5300 apu processor

If it was graphics card or psu failure then why is it working fine now after i slapped hard on the cabinet? Graphics card temperatures are always normal and never goes beyond 54 degrees. I just want to understand why there was no display when I tried to start the computer today morning.

reinstall all graphics drivers if you have not already. I recommend DDU for uninstalling them. If the problem happens again, then try a different pcie slot maybe? I have had the issue before of my hdmi port of my graphics card not working in one slot, but working in another one.

Did you hear any beebs when you turned your PC On.
If yes then as far as I know the display port of your GPU has gotten loose or damaged due to which your computer doesn't display any output.
Did you try using the HDMI/DVI or any other port of your graphics card other than VGA?
If the problem only occurs in the VGA port then it means that the port is damaged.
