GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming 3 VGA Error Light On

Hello All!

Currently put together a new PC build.

GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming 3 (Motherboard)
AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (CPU)
ASUS Radeon RX 580 8GB (GPU)
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x8gb 3000mhz
ASUS Radeon RX580 8gb
Corsair TX 650w Power Supply

I'm currently getting a VGA error light on the motherboard. I have tried clearing the CMOS and trying different PCIe slots x4 and x16. I have put in an old GPU Radeon 5700 HD that was working in my old build just a day ago. I tried switching slots with it and clearing the CMOS. I still get the VGA light.

I can't see anything on my monitors with either graphics card.

Simply I'm stuck. Any advice or support is much appreciated.

Solution
Mobo was ready to support a 2nd gen Ryzen that needed F10 BIOS version, however your CPU needs F22 or higher.

Ryzen 5 2400G or Ryzen 5 2200G only need F10 or higher.
make sure eps cable is connected and you used the cpu and not a video cable for eps power. make sure the mb is on the standoffs and the mb not hitting the mb tray when a gpu is placed into the pci slot. try one ram dimm also check to see if the mb bios is at a rev to post your cpu.

I haven't tried checking if the standoffs are interfering with the process. I will pull out the mobo and carefully reseat.
I've tried the one ram.

Not sure what you mean "to see that mb bios is at a rev to post your cpu".

Thanks smorizio. I'll get back to you.

Was there any notes or stickers on the box saying the bios has been updated to work with 2nd gen Ryzen cpus? I know some retailers do provide b350/x370 boards with updated BIOS but thats not always the case.
Either way you have made sure the gpu is seated properly? Power connectors plugged in? Also you have plugged your display to the gpu and not the motherboard yeh?

Thank you for the reply. I checked all that you said and as far I can tell the Mobo was ready to support a 2nd gen Ryzen.

I decided to upgrade to a newer board. We will see how it goes when I get it Wednesday.

Makes sense, thank you for your support. That's an awful lot of trouble to simply get your computer running, especially if you don't have an extra AM4 processor laying around.

Hey I ended up buying a newer generation motherboard for 30-40$ more, I plugged my CPU in and everything else and it has been working great since. Looks like the newer MOBOs are made to handle the newer generation of AMD CPUs.

The MOBO is: X470 AORUS Ultra Gaming Gigabyte Socket AM4
