I'm just curious what's better and why?

Can someone help explain if for dummies? :pt1cable:

integrated ati radeon hd 3000 vs AMD R9-280x.

The board's a little ASUS M5A78L-M Plus micro atx with an FX-8050 CPU if any of that matters.

I know the graphics on the board have 1gb shared memory and the card has 3gbs. But what else makes the card so much better? I'm just trying to get a better grasp on it all! If that's even possible.

Thanks,
Beau ;)

Dedicated GPUs have far, far more on-board resources than integrated GPUs. The best integrated GPU available right now, the RX Vega 11 in the 2400g, is only in the neighborhood of an entry-level GPU (GT 1030) and slower than a high-end mainstream card from 2010 like the GTX 480.

An R9 280x will absolutely obliterate a Radeon HD 3000 that you see on some very old motherboards. It's like if the New York Yankees or New England Patriots squared off against a team you build from random people that live on your block.
