My monitors die while gaming

While playing Quake Champions (now 2nd day a row this happend) my 2nd monitor dies and 1 sec later my main monitor dies too. They basically go to sleep as if the screensaver kicked in and I have to restart my pc for them to work again. Today when it happened I was listening to spotify and it didn't stopped playing music after the monitors died. Is my gpu dying (no OC, no overheat (~60*C))? The game is buggy but I don't know if it can cause this but it seem to happen only when it's running.

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K, 4.0GHz, 8MB

SSD: Intel 520 SSD 120GB SATA3

The monitors are on 2 different power strips and 2 different wall sockets.. I can't use one monitor. I need two. The cables are not at fault.
When it happens the monitors basically go to standby as if the pc was turned off. Today it didn't happen yet tho.
Well my guess is the game and/or drivers.

Right but does it do this when your PC is actively being used or when you step away? If it is when you step away for periods of time. Then why not set your PC to high performance mode and stop it from sleeping or going into hibernation? It will still go into a slow power state when not used for after 30 minutes. Just wont go into as deep as a sleep.

Issue could be with power strip, If it is dying and randomly power cycling etc... try to bypass it and plug straight into the wall.

It's not power strip - I wrote that the monitors are on 2 different power strips.
It's not a hibernation - it happens when I play quake champions. I wrote that in my first post. The music continued to play when it happened last time.

Next time if it happens I'll try to plug/unplug cables and do all sort of stuff.

Here is other topic - I had problems with my PC slowing down. I never fixed it... it fixed itself on its own about a month ago. I was suspecting drivers- and same here. This pc is just weird...

he's not lying to you. however, it might be a failing power supply that can't keep up with the gpu maybe? like noted above, when things start to go south, they don't always just stop working, sometimes they stop working in weird ways that cause issues with other things.

oh, and, what exact model and brand of 'Power Strip' do you use? because most of them are PURE GARBAGE

Final warning because you insulted him multiple times. You get 1 warning then you get a ban for a few days, and it can escalate from there, thats how it works. Now let it go and follow up with those helping you with your issue.

Not a psu issue. I run a stress test for few hours.
The game and/or drivers is my educated guess.
I've had other weird problems with this pc:
-pc slowing down with longer uptimes - everything started to slow down internet speed, programs - restart fixing it.
-cut of of the internet for a second that caused instant log out from overwatch - which wasn't the case when puling the Ethernet cable or blocking access to internet. Just a weird hard log out. For other games too.
Those 2 don't occur now for a few months.
I just feel like buying a new pc..

That would be a case when the circuit is overloaded for a second. I actually can replicate it when I use a laser that takes a lot of power for just a second. The 2nd monitor goes black and comes back on.
However this is not the case. The monitors don't come back no matter how long I wait and there is no excess of power used by other device.

But yeah I had people telling me that some windows updates caused problems with nvidia drivers. Thats why (and that other weird problems) make me think it's something with the drivers.
Ohh also now I remember something else. The last time I had this happen I check and the fans on gpu weren't spinning. The gpu was warm but I was just using it so thats no surprise.

its gtx 980 and its 144+60 2nd one.
I doubt that. I can see some fps drops when I' gaming and on 2nd monitor I have graphs updating every second or a stream running so I usually minimize them but that is normal.

so do you think this might cause issues? refresh one higher than other? can you try lowering the first one to 60 just to test it? grabbing at straws now, sorry. try to play with the nVidia settings for each. dig around and test.

I had those 2 running and different refresh rates for a long time so I doubt now the problems would occur.

hey, go here and type in the name of your game and do the detection to see if you meet minimum requirements

https://systemrequirementslab.com/cyri

black screens are often gpu related, as we all well know and maybe that older card can't do it? my hefty work box just failed that test

if you could drop in a 1070 what a difference, comparing the two, yours uses more power too

:) Here, before someone sends you through a bunch of changes, try this solution linked below if you haven't already. When I set the exe file of my games "priority" setting to 'high', my games haven't crashed since so far.
