so my ping is awful when i play games i get around 400-500 but when i go on speedtest.net i get 4 ping why? help and my down speed is 15mbps and upload is around 17

Edit: I got this on command when i typed ping and my ip address...
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 2ms, Maximum = 2ms, Average = 2ms
Edit: My internet seems to be fluctuating when i speedtest sometimes its 10 mbps+ but now its only 1 mbps i didnt event restart the pc

Solution
So this started happening after moving the desktop?

Move it back to it's original location temporarily. How do results look there? If they go back to "normal" to issue is with the physical location.

Distance to the server. Speedtest is pinging your ISP's server (IIRC) so is always nearby.

For gaming, you're pinging the game server which may or may not be remotely close to you.
In some games you can manually configure the server region, so can select the one closest to you. In others, it's automatic and there's not a lot you can do.

This has been happening since I shifted my PC from the room to the hall (Wifi is stronger here than the room) and the pc is on the floor on the room it was at a height of around 6 foot

Wireless or wired Ethernet? NM -- I see it's wireless. The problem is very likely in your wireless -- ping times won't tell you much about how well latency sensitive applications like games will perform. How many other users and any nearby wireless networks?.

I do not know how to set up the pc because my brother did it for me but i took some speed tests on my phone near the pc and the speed was almost identical and the previous location had better speed so i guess it is the physical location! Thank you for your time and the answer sir :D

Hey! I installed the app and my network is the highest and the others are pretty low.. mine is -70 dBm+ and the others are around -80/-90 or low i dont know what this means but hope this helps :)

In the end it really doesn't matter what the numbers are if it does not perform the way you need it there are not many things you can do to fix it. You could try both 2.4g and 5g bands if you adapter supports it. Maybe one works better.

The more common issue is not so much your router power but your NIC transmit power. You maybe able to hear the router but the router can not hear your transmissions. The interference from external device may also be stronger by the router. Way too many variables to say for sure.

WiFi is not recommended to play online games because of these issues. It can work fine and then randomly get all kinds of problems. Games are extremely susceptible to latency issues caused by wifi.

Best recommendation is to not use wifi and use ethernet or maybe powerline if ethernet is not available.

If your wifi nic card is USB based you could try a 15ft USB cable, maybe you get lucky and find a location in the room that gets better signal.
