High end laptop - Low FPS

My high end gaming laptop has gradually been getting worse over the last months. It worked perfectly once I got it but without any warning I got lower FPS when playing my games. I saw that my CPU tempratures were a bit too high (96 degrees celsius at max) but even when the temps were lower the computer performend poorly. Anyone knows possible solutions to this? All help is grately appreciated.

Here's my specs and benchmark performance:

UserBenchmarks: Game 34%, Desk 47%, Work 26%
CPU: Intel Core i7-7700HQ - 34.3%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 (Mobile) - 48.3%
SSD: HFS128G39TND-N210A 128GB - 55.5%
HDD: HGST Travelstar 7K1000 2.5" 1TB - 71.7%
RAM: Hynix HMA81GS6AFR8N-UH Samsung M471A1K43BB1-CRC 16GB - 49.8%
MBD: Asus GL502VMZ

Are you plugged into AC power while running all these tests?

If your CPU is hitting 96 C it's probably starting to throttle. A good place to start for trying to fix that would be to clean out dust from the fans/heatsink with some canned air.

What's max GPU temp under load?

Getting FPS drops down to 30-50 in Fortnite atm..at lowest possible settings.

Yes, the CPU cores reaches a temperature of 90-96 degrees celsius consistently now. The CPU utilization hangs low at under 50%. Not sure how to monitor the GPU...

Just ran a quick test on Fortnite with MSI Afterburner. THe GPU usage is between 90-100% at lowest settings. Might be the problem?
