Hello!

I've recently upgraded my system to this:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (Using stock cooler)
GPU: MSI GTX 1080ti Gaming X 11gb
MOBO: ASrock AB350 Pro4 ATX AM4
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V series 16gb (2x8) 3000 Mhz (Does not run at 3000 Mhz automatically, I have set it in the BIOS to run as close as possible though)
PSU: Cooler Master 650W 80+ Gold Fully Modular (I have used it for nearly 4 years)

Specifically, the game has shut off in Witcher 3, on 4K - HDR, everything Ultra with no hair works. It happens at about 10 minutes of play. It has not shut off while playing at 1080p Ultra, no hair works.

I have checked temperatures right up until it shuts off, the GPU is at 65c with fans at 25% while the CPU is at 50c at 35%. My case has 4 fans, and everything is running cool. My PSU has its fan running at time of shut off.

Once the computer has shut off, I need to turn it off at the PSU and turn that back on before it will allow me to turn it back on again. It's specifically that. I can unplug and put it new power points all I want, it won't let me turn it on until I specifically turn off the PSU and turn it back on again.

Extras:
- It does not turn off when just casually using it.
- It did not close off when running The Lego Movie video game at 4K.
- I do not have another PSU to test it with.
- My old components are old, and not enough to run Witcher 3 in the exact same situation and none of my old components are compatible with my new ones.
- There is no error or crash report.
- The RAM I'm using is not on the mobo's compatible list, should I get RAM that is? (Only difference I've noticed is that it doesn't run automatically at the 3000Mhz, and the compatible ones are $80+ more expensive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :) Thanks.

Solution
This points towards a PSU failure. While it is a good unit, it is turning old and efficiency decreases over time. As you are playing at 4k, the stress on the GPU and CPU increases and they draw more power, which the PSU would not be able to supply. Thus, the PC shuts off.

Solution
I agree that it seems the PSU is either A. Dying or B. Not efficient enough to handle the increased power created when the CPU and GPU boost. Its probably B. I would recommend an efficient 650 watt minimum or a 750 if you have the budget. Seasonic focus gold is your best bet.

It's not likely to be a RAM issue? I'm using RAM that isn't officially supported by the board, but it clocks at 2933. I don't want to get a PSU and it still happens. D:

Thanks! :)

It worked! Yay! :D

Unfortunately... new problem has now appeared. My PC is plugged into an OLED C7. It now randomly turns off the screen, and my mouse and keyboard will not receive power. Specifically them though. I have a USB headset that works when this happens. When this happens, the HDMI connection does not function - I can unplug the HDMI cable and plug it in any different HDMI port and the TV will register that the port is in use, but the PC will not show picture. During this time I cannot shut off the PC, holding shut off does not work and neither does restart, I can only turn off the PC if I turn it off at the PSU. After this happens and I turn it on again, the POST screen is all stretched out and has green lines from top to bottom.

Everything is plugged in, I have re-seated every thing again. No outrageous temperatures. No specific moments where it shuts down.

I think it is. Last night I changed it to high powered settings and turned off every sleep setting possible. It happened again, but differently. The screen turned off, but USB connections worked and I could turn the PC off with the power button.

I just couldn't get the screen to show.
