Old system need advice.

My gaming pc was built about 6 years ago. I feel it's time to upgrade hard to maintain 60fps at 1080p anymore. Looking for advice on what to dump money into. Take note of new hardware at bottom of list.

Old system specs:
I5 3570k
AsRock Z77 Exrtreme4
Hyper 212 EVO
EVGA GTX 680sc
16GB generic ram
1TB HDD
250GB SSD
850 W Seasonic Gold PSU
NZXT Phantom Case
Generic $7.99 Keyboard
Logitech Choas Spectrum Mouse
Asus 24in 1ms 1920x1080 Monitor

I currently have on order out for delivery a I7 8700k CPU with a Asus ROG Strix E series MoBo. G.Skillz Tridentz RGB 16GB@3200. Corsair H100i Pro 240mm RGB Heatsink. I already upgraded my GPU to an EVGA GTX 1070 about 6 months ago. I also just got a new Corsair K70 mk.2 RGB mechanical keyboard. Trying to future proof a bit again so I can go another 6 years without having to spend much or more money. I feel I still need a upgrade to my case and probably a m.2 SSD thinking 960 EVO 1TB m.2. I would love a new high end display but I feel I'm going to need to save up again for that.

I'd say that a 1070 could handle an ultrawide at 2560x1080 quite easily. My son's LG is a 34 inch with a very slight curve at that resolution. His video card's not nearly as powerful, though, so sometimes struggles (R9 285).

Of course, that's a FreeSync monitor - you might consider a Gsync monitor, but those are more expensive.

You could also consider 3440x1440, but the 1070 would likely struggle to keep up with that resolution when gaming.

He is asking for suggestions on what to upgrade next.

Do you really need a 1TB SSD? It won't really improve performance of games, just load times.
I'd get the display next.

No I suppose I don't need the 1TB ssd I'm a little disappointed I bought a 1070 instead of a GTX 1080ti but I didnt have the money at the time so I feel my 1070 is only good for 1080p gaming limiting the new display I choose. I will say I am leaning toward an extra wide display I don't run multi monitors hence why I'm looking at 1 big 1.
