Hey, i recently sold my case and decided to just use my pc open air for now, but i soon noticed the PSU was making a weird rattling noise.
It almost sounds like someone scratching something, and it is very annoying.
I can't say if this issue was present before i moved out of the case, but i assume it was.

PC specs:
-RM850x
-i5 7600k
-EVGA GTX 1070 SC
-ASUS Z270-F
-1tb hdd
-120 gig ssd.
-NZXT Kraken x62

Here's a preview of the sound: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slLrNV6ORrM

Inductor noise, it's magnetic energy vibrating in an air gap inside the inductor or some sciencey stuff like that. It wont hurt anything, just annoying. It just means the inductors were not insulted well enough to make them inaudible. This is an annoyance with many PSU's and GPU's which also have inductors, though coil whine is more common on GPU's which is a coil inside a choke vibrating and making noise.

You may be able to RMA the PSU for this if you want, however your replacement may do the same thing. The noise may also change, disappear, or get louder depending on PSU load.

Looks like coil whine since your fan isn't moving. You wouldn't have noticed the issue, most probably because the case was out of sigh and out of mind. It's closer to you which is why you're picking up on it now. You can contact Corsair and your seller to keep them both in the loop. It's probable that if the unit is failing at it's duties, in connection to your noise, it'll be RMA'd.

On another note, are you certain the noise if not from the CPU's VRM heatsink's/power delivery area?

So, a little update.

It turns out it is not my PSU, in the clutter that is my PC it was a bit hard to identify the noise.
I played around some more and found out it's acctually the AIO pump for my kraken x62 that is making the noise. Bit of a change of subject, but regardless: Any way to fix it?

So, as it turns out in my hurry to assemble the darn thing i ended up forgetting the USB controller cable for my x62 cooler, connected it to my usb header on my motherboard and it works perfectly now.

No rattling, perfect temps. All good.
