The user profile service failed the sign in windows 10

I was logging into my computer when my cat walked over my keyboard and caused this to happen: The user profile service failed the sign in user profile cannot be load. I have been into the registry and changed the settings. But I still could not sign in. I tried to go back into the registry but now the computer sends me in a loop back to the log in page which does not allow me to sign in. I am using windows 10 and I have documents that I need but haven’t back up. Is there any way I can access these documents? Or is there any portable programs that I can use to sort this problem out? I managed to get to my desktop but I am now getting this message: C\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disk inserted and then try again. If the location is on the network, make sure you’re connected to the network or internet and then try again. If the location still can’t be found it might have been moved or deleted. Many thanks in advance for your help.

Seems a strange sequence of events...

During login some typing error via the cat is most likely to just generate some "incorrect password" or "failure error".

This: "I have been into the registry and changed the settings".

What specifically did you change and what were the before and after entries?

I opened the Registry Editor and went to these keys – HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList Double clicked "ProfileImagePath" entry after clicking each S-1-5 folder and looked for the related account.Double-clicked"State" and got the Value to 0 again and clicked OK. Still couldn't log it make matters worse.

Messing with the Registry always makes matters worse.

Be that as it may, there's been a discussion in the Moderators' private bar-roon and we decided we cannot help you because we can't see proof of ownership. I'm sure you would agree with our position if your machine was stolen and we helped the thief gain access to your private data.

Thread closing now; please don't start another on the same subject. Consult a professional PC Fixer.

On a re-read of your original post and a nudge from a fellow Moderator, I've reopened this. If your profile is corrupted, you need to call up the StartUp Repair options and select the Cmmand option. Turning the machine off by the power switch should bring those options up.

At the prompt in the Command form, type
net user Administrator /active:yes
then hit the Enter key. If you see a message accepting the command, type exit to close the form then restart the machine.

On the lock screen you should now see an extra icon and that belongs to the System Administrator. Click on that one and when Windows stops messing around making a new desktop, etc., press eth Wiondows key and R together and type Control in the box.

In Control Panel>User Accounts. Choose a new name for your account and create a new user. Restart again and log in on the new name.

In File Explorer, transfer all your personal files from your old account to the new then back in User Accounts, delete your old account.

Put the Administrator account back to sleep, use the same syntax only this time it's /active:no. Shut down and start afresh and hopefully, you're in the clear.

Sorry for my earlier misunderstanding.
